Final Project
For my final I crocheted a pillow. I used Yarn that transitions from gold to dark blue. With a zigzag pattern and it turned into a heart. My pillow is not huge but it is a decent sized pillow. The zigzag on my pillow goes down, the texture of my pillow is soft.
Abstract
This week we are doing abstract drawings in oil pastel. We had a piece of paper that had a list of 21 things we had to draw on our bigger piece of paper and after you did those things you got to put whatever you wanted on it.
impression painting
This week we are making impression paintings. An impression is when you show your brush storks in a painting. For mine I painted a landscape of cherry blossoms and a road with a girl standing on the road.
Tessellation
Our project this week are tessellations. Tessellations are a shape that you make a pattern on ann they fit together like a puzzle. I chose a square as my final one and I made them into little monsters and colored them with diffrent colors.
Alebrije
This week we made Alebrijes from clay. An Alebrije is three animals or more combined together. I chose to do an owl, pinguin, and peacock. I painted it with bright colors and I decorated it with patterns.
Think outside the box
For this project we have a square piece of a magazine picture that we have to make a picture out of. We also have to have the same colors as the picture to try and make it blend in.
Final
We got to choose what we wanted to do for our final project for this semester. I chose a split face drawing of Cress and Thorne from the Lunar Chronicles. First we had to write down what we wanted to d then we had to make a sketch and then you had to do the final sketch.
Architecture
For this project we are making our dream home. First we had to wright out what our house was going to look like. Then we had to draw floor plans then next we had to draw some perspectives. Then we had to draw the outside of the house. For the outside of my house I chose to do second perspective. My house is two stories and has angled siding, three regular windows and a bay window, and a hobbit door. My house has trees in the background with the sun and some birds. I also have flowers and some bushes by the front door and a firepit in the front yard.
Printmaking
For this project we are printmaking. First you have to make a design on a cardboard piece with things that will be able to print on a piece of paper and add texture. Then you have to put shalake on it so the paint will not destroy it. I put string and cotton on mine to practice with. Then I painted it orange and did a intaglio. An intaglio is where the grooves are the only ones that should be printed. Then after you paint it then you have to scrape of the paint that are not in the grooves. My intaglio print did not work so well. The next print i'm going to do is called a relief. A relief is when you only print the surface of the print and print that. We did are final prints we made a bigger print and had to make five reliefs and five intoglios. In total we would have ten in all. For this print I used foam and string. The green ones are relief and the copper and yellow ones are intoglio.
Self portrait
For this project we are making self portraits like Frida Kahlo. For the first part of this project we looked at some portraits that Frida made and what her life was like. Frida had a hard life when she was young she was in a bus accident and she broke several bones. Also Frida married her husband three different times. Second we drew the best face that we could as a pretest. Then all together we went step-by- step and dew a face. All are faces look different because we all have are own unique way of drawing. Now we are all making are self portraits and comparing them to what we drew before. Then finally we took a post test.
